Welcome! I'm Jeanette, although most people just call me Netty; I answer to either :). For as far back as I can remember, I have been a total grammar nerd, in love with anything to do with grammar, reading, writing...you get the picture! I have been blessed with a meticulous eye for detail, which has served me well throughout my proofreading and editing career. As cliché as this may sound, there is nothing more fulfilling to me than taking fresh copy and making it shine to its highest potential.  By removing all those pesky errors that can greatly diminish the quality of the work and ensuring that the content is clear and coherent. I feel such a sense of satisfaction when I deliver the updated document to my client, knowing that it is as close to perfection as possible.

I specialize in editing children's literature, whether it be a board book, a picture book, a rhyming book, an educational resource for children, or a children's workbook. I am a trained developmental editor for picture books, and also offer line editing, copyediting, and proofreading for these manuscripts. I offer copyediting services for many other types of documents as well, including, but not limited to, educational resources, emails, websites, blog posts, social media posts, newsletters, and more!

In regard to my proofreading style, I am trained using the Chicago Manual of Style, however, also have experience with APA and MLA.  I use the Oxford comma (serial comma) rule and the Merriam-Webster online dictionary.  However, if you have your own preferences, please let me know, as I'll be happy to accommodate!
